When you’re setting up the Basic Configuration of a campaign tool, you’ll be asked to enter the Primary Targets of your campaign. These targets will be the recipients of the emails, Tweets, calls, and faxes sent by your supporters.
This applies to all tools except our Letters to Editors Tool, which targets newspapers.
Under Location-based Targets, you can choose to target elected officials at the federal, state/provincial, and municipal levels. Once your supporter enters an address or zip/postal code, your campaign tool will automatically identify their local representatives.
Under Location-based targets, you’ll also be asked to choose a Target Method. This gives you the option to target decision-makers based on either your supporter’s address or zip/postal code. We recommend address-based targeting because it produces more accurate results.
