We strongly recommend setting up a Fallback target for campaigns targeting elected officials based on postal code look up to ensure that users are able to take action if no usable data is returned for a given data set and postal code.
It's important to be aware of the limitations of postal codes, which are primarily a way for Canada Post to sort mail, not a way to match an electoral district. We've heard from chief electoral officers across Canada that postal codes are not 100% accurate for matching an electoral district, and our own research – using the highest quality postal code data – confirms this.
Step 1: Go to Edit/Advanced/ and click Edit on webform component Elected:
Step 2: Insert you fallback targets Name and the needed contact details (only one field needs to be filled: Phone number for Click-2-Call, Email for Email to Representatives, Twitter handle for Tweet@ etc).
Step 3: Save.
Please note that if you are using multiple elected components and deferals, you will only want to set a fallback target at the bottom of your deferal chain.
